Photo Gallery | Police: Women robbed after giving man ride home

As of Friday, March 1, police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed two women who were giving him a ride home.

According to the police report, two women were leaving the Texaco convenient store on Winchester Road and Hickory Hill Road when an unknown man asked them for a ride home.

He said the he had missed the bus and would be in trouble with his parents.

The victims sympathized with the suspect and gave him a ride to the 1200 block of Marechalneil Street.

As the female victims stopped to let him out, the male suspect pointed a handgun at the victims demanding their cash. The victims complied and the suspect exited the vehicle running north on Marechalneil Street.

He was wearing a blue University of Memphis hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a black baseball cap. He was armed with an unknown type of handgun.

The suspect is also possibly responsible for several other robberies that have occurred in the Orange Mound Area.

Store still shot surveillance photos of the suspect are in this story. Airways Station GIB investigators are currently in charge of this ongoing investigation.
