The New York Times called him a “hip-hop heavyweight,” and now rapper Rick Ross is hoping he can become a winner with hot wings too.
Although Rick Ross’ Hickory Hill Wingstop restaurant won’t celebrate its grand opening until October 15, it's officially open for business today.
“It’s time for us to make it happen in Memphis,” he said in a written statement. “With Wingstop we are bringing in the food I like and adding jobs to the community. It’s a double win.”
Ross first teamed up with Wingstop when he rapped about their wings on his song “MC Hammer.”
Now, he’s put his money where his mouth is. Ross, who also runs the Maybach Music Group, will appear at the restaurant’s grand opening on October 15, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
The restaurant is located at 7706 Winchester Road.
