Three charged in deadly home invasion | Crime
Police have charged three men with robbery and attempted murder for a home invasion that left one man in the hospital and a fourth intruder dead.
Officers say Ladarius Blayde and three other armed crooks forced their way into a home in the 7800 block of Winoak on Monday.
As they tried to rob the homeowner he grabbed a gun and opened fire, shooting and killing the 19-year-old. Two of the gunmen also fired shots, at least one bullet hit the homeowner Myron Applewhite in the abdomen. Applewhite was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police arrested Richard Higgs the same day as the crime. Two others, 17-year-old Shunika Rooks and 23-year-old Joe McKnight, were arrested on Tuesday. All three are facing attempted aggravated robbery, attempted murder and weapon charges.
