MEMPHIS, TN- (WMC-TV) - Some neighborhoods are now in the second full week of the Teamsters garbage strike in Memphis. Many residents said they are sick and tired of the trash – that's now piling up along city streets.
Hickory Hill residents like George Garrison have been working for days, cleaning up outside their homes.
But Garrison feels his work is for naught when he looks across the street.
"No, I don't like it. I don't imagine nobody likes it. Open the door, walk out and see the street filled with junk. Don't nobody like it," he said.
From mattresses to furniture, even tires and other debris – residents living just off Ross Road said some of this stuff has been piled up for two weeks now.
"Our community and neighborhood look so destroyed and disgusting," continued Hickory Hill resident Anthony Maxwell.
